Paul Cantwell, Co-Founder and CFO of the CABO Group, brings over 35 years of experience across investment banking, capital markets, and international business development.
He began his career with Shearson Lehman and Credit Suisse First Boston, building deep expertise in equities, FX, and institutional client relationships across Asia and Europe.
Paul has since led and advised high-growth ventures across gaming, media, and digital platforms, including board-level roles overseeing finance, regulatory compliance, and shareholder value.
Within CABO Group, he supports capital structuring, financial strategy, and transaction execution, leveraging extensive global networks and commercial experience.
Daniel Massey, originally from Canada, is the CEO of the CABO Group. He has over 30 years of global financial services experience across custody, funds, corporate trust, lending and capital markets.
Daniel was an HSBC International Officer and Managing Director based in multiple offices globally. He has led large teams operating across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America. His roles covered sales, operations, regulatory oversight, risk management and corporate governance.
Daniel dealt directly with sovereign wealth funds, central banks and major institutional investors, operating at the C-suite level.
Within CABO Group, he supports institutional engagement, bank relationships and the development of investment platforms across international markets.
Craig Steven Murphy, a co-founder of Max Marine Asia, and a Senior Operating Partner heading up CABO Group’s Marine and Aviation Division across both the investment and the humanitarian sector.
Bringing over 40 years of experience across marine engineering, yacht management, and asset operations in Southeast Asia.
He specialises in the acquisition, development, and lifecycle management of high-value marine and aviation assets, including superyachts, seaplanes, Gulfstream and other corporate jets, as well as complex refit projects.
Craig’s background includes senior roles within Aman Resorts, overseeing both marine and seaplane operations. He began his career as a shipwright at Cockatoo Island, Sydney, working on Australian Navy vessels, forming the technical foundation for his asset focused, investment driven approach.
James E.Harris has a professional career spanning 35 plus years, encompassing military, government, diplomatic and commercial consulting roles across multiple geographies.
As the founder of a number of successful business consulting/services companies in Asia and the Middle East he has accumulated a wide array of networks and contacts which he brings to bear in his capacity as Special Operations Director for CABO Group.
James’s background includes engagement with the Commonwealth of Nations as a Strategic Advisor to the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CEWIC). Through his representative work for CWEIC in the Middle East he enjoys unique access to the 56-member Commonwealth members that comprise this global association and is involved in raising finance for a variety of privately funded development projects around the Commonwealth.

Des Bahr is a strategic technology advisor to CABO Group, bringing over 35 years of leadership in complex ICT and critical infrastructure environments across public safety, government, and secure enterprise systems.
He has delivered nationally significant programs, including Australia’s first integrated multi-agency emergency communications and dispatch platform, helping shape modern public safety infrastructure.
Operating across Australia, the United States, the Middle East, and Asia, Des provides deep expertise in secure communications, digital networks, and high-consequence technology ecosystems. Within CABO Group, he supports the evaluation, structuring, and governance of technology-driven investments, ensuring alignment with risk frameworks, operational resilience, and long-term infrastructure value.
Nisa Bond brings over 30 years of experience across natural resources, trade, and private enterprise in Southeast Asia, with long-standing involvement in the CABO Group platform since its inception.
She has held a director-level role in mining, sourcing and exporting minerals to China, and has collaborated with international energy groups including Gazprom UK and Vitol on clean energy initiatives in the region.
Nisa has also worked closely with the Vietnam Government on financial programs involving US Dollar Banknote Redemption programs.
She contributes deep regional relationships, government interface experience, and commercial insight to cross-border investment activities.
Jacob Montross
Cambodia Entrepreneur
Jacob arrived in Cambodia in April 2004 and spent his first couple years working for a consulting firm. In 2006, he joined the largest Cambodian conglomerate, the Royal Group of Companies where he started in the Finance Department, but was quickly moved to Business Development. In 2008, he founded Royal Cambodian Limousine Service and secured a 15-year exclusive agreement with the Royal Government of Cambodia. In addition, he served as the CEO of Helicopters Cambodia and Royal Group Aviation Services under the Royal Group of Companies.
In 2012, Jacob began to focus on his own private investments and founded Giant Ibis Transport, which today is the most trusted and recognized passenger transport company in the region. Around the same time, he used his experience and relationships to bring several international franchise businesses to Cambodia, including BMW and Century 21. In 2017, he founded Capital Brokerage, which today is a key exporter of Agriculture to China and in 2022, he co-founded Luy Rohas, a consumer finance company offering micro finance solutions via app. Jacob is proud to join the CABO team and bring his Cambodia expertise to the team in facilitating both private investments and humanitarian projects.
Jacob Montross is an American from Scottsdale, Arizona and has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Arizona State University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. While at ASU, Jacob minored in Southeast Asian studies and is fluent in Khmer and proficient in Thai.
Sophie Phan works alongside CABO Group, bringing a legal and governance-focused background with over 8 years’ experience across Australia and Southeast Asia.
A qualified legal practitioner, she has worked across contract drafting, regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and cross-border business operations. Her experience spans legal advisory roles, project management, and supporting complex commercial activities, including licensing, international trade, and client negotiations.
